To ensure you get the best possible playing instrument when it leaves our shop:
1. Estimates & Quotes
We provide an initial assessment and estimate upon inspection. If repairs prove more complex than expected, we reserve the right to carry out up to $100 (incl. GST) of additional work without prior notification - This is to allow us to continue with the work quickly and ensure you get the best possible repair
For any work exceeding this amount, we will seek your authorization before proceeding. Quotes are valid for 14 days.
2. Quality Standards & Safety
We take pride in our craftsmanship. If an instrument cannot be effectively repaired to our professional standards, we will return it without a repair charge and discuss alternative options with you.
We reserve the right to decline work on instruments that are mechanically unsound or where a repair would not result in a playable instrument.
3. Insurance & Liability
While your instrument is in our workshop, we will take all reasonable care to ensure its security.
However, we unfortunatly can not provide insurance coverage for customer instruments. Instruments are stored at the owner's risk regarding theft, fire, natural disasters, or accidental damage. We recommend that owners maintain their own private musical instrument insurance.
Shipping: For out-of-town clients, we are not liable for damage occurring during transit. It is the sender's responsibility to package the instrument according to our guidelines and to arrange their own transit insurance.
4. Payment & Collection
Full payment is required before or upon collection/return shipping.
Lien: We reserve the right to retain possession of the instrument until all outstanding invoices are paid in full.
Instruments not collected within 90 days of notification of completion may be subject to storage fees or sold to recover costs, provided reasonable attempts to contact the owner have been made.
5. Warranty & Guarantees
We provide a 90-day warranty on all labor and new materials used.
This warranty covers the specific work performed and does not cover general wear and tear, accidental damage, or "tinkering" by the owner or third parties after the instrument leaves our shop.
If you are not satisfied with a repair, please contact us within 7 days so we can prioritize a resolution.
We are most grateful for your business and the oppurtunity to help you continue to love music
Tips from the repair bench:
Remember to swab your instrument after each time you play. This helps keep your instrument in great playing condition for longer and helps the pads last for many years
Wash your mouthpiece with cold water and a little dish soap once a week to keep your mouthpiece fresh
Reeds sadly don't last forever; When you get chips or cracks or it just looks tired, it is probably time to replace it.
