Music has been my passion for as long as I can remember. At just six years old, I picked up my first instrument, and a few years later I discovered the saxophone—the instrument that would shape my life. With guidance from inspiring tutors and countless hours performing in local bands, I developed not only my playing ability but also a deep understanding of how a saxophone should truly sound and feel.

 

My journey into saxophone repair began in 2020. After years of playing, I noticed my own instrument wasn’t performing at its best—notes were off, mechanisms were sticking, and the overall response just didn’t feel right. I soon realized there was a shortage of skilled woodwind repair technicians in Hawke’s Bay, with most players needing to send instruments to Auckland or Wellington. That sparked my decision to train in repair and dedicate myself to serving the local music community here at home.

 

I had the privilege of studying under Bruce Marking, a master woodwind repairer with over 40 years of experience. His mentorship has been invaluable in developing the skills I now use to restore instruments with precision and care.

 

Today, I’m proud to support musicians and students throughout Hawke’s Bay and across New Zealand by offering saxophone and clarinet repairs that keep instruments playing beautifully.

 

My goal is simple: to help every player—from beginners to professionals—enjoy music to the fullest by ensuring their instrument performs at its very best.

Our Store

Our workshop is fully equipped to handle all your repair needs and get you back to playing as quickly as possible. Using the finest materials and quality tools we are ready for your repair needs. 

 

From a simple check-up or a few adjustments to pad replacements or a full clean, oil, and adjustment service, we’re here to help.

 

While saxophone repair is our specialty, we also provide clarinet repair services with the same level of care and attention. We love working in our sunny Hawke’s Bay workshop, and we’re confident you’ll enjoy visiting too.

 

We are open Monday–Friday, 4:30 pm–8:00 pm, and Saturday, 10:00 am–5:00 pm by appointment only. Please contact us to book a time—we look forward to seeing you!
